Welcome to our first market of 2020 – a Veganuary special!! Veganuary aims to inspire and support people to try vegan for January and throughout the rest of the year. Visit their website if you would like to find out more or take the Veganuary challenge.

Where and when? It’s on Saturday 18th January from 10-2.30pm at Exeter Corn Exchange, Market Street, EX1 1BW. FREE entry.   

Everyone welcome, whether vegan, plant-based or new to it all and want to find out more.

Parking, bus and rail info here. The market is on the first floor, with access by stairs or two lifts. If you have problems using the lifts please ring the number by the bottom lift doors, or ask someone to come up the stairs to let us know so that we can help. The venue does not allow dogs, except assistance dogs.

Exeter Friends For Animals
EFFA consists of a wide diversity of people who campaign locally in Exeter on animal issues. If you would like to join EFFA, please come and chat at the stall in the main foyer! EFFA will also have info on other campaigns.

Taster Table
Free vegan food tasters! Come and try out a variety of vegan cheeses, vegan chocolate and organic snacks. A huge thanks to Bute Island Foods, Moo Free and Clearspring for their generous food donations.

Six Steps to Going Vegan – 11am
Talk by Rob Masterson of the Vegan Approach
Are you thinking about going vegan? Have you tried being vegan before but come across some challenges? Are you a new vegan? Rob will outline 6 simple steps to start you on your vegan journey including cooking tips, nutrition, eating out and dealing with family and friends. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions to our expert vegan speaker.

Cookery Demonstration – 12pm
With Clare Pearson
Clare is demonstrating root vegetable and chickpea tagine with fruity couscous and homemade chickpea and herb falafel. Includes tasters at the end and limited number of jars of pesto to take away and try. A huge thanks to Suma for their generous food donation.

Vegan Nutrition – 1pm
Talk with registered dietician Sandra Hood, author of Feeding your vegan infant with confidence
Sandra will be addressing common myths around vegan nutrition and by the end of the talk you should be confident about eating a totally plant based diet. With Q & A at the end of the talk. Sandra is also happy to answer questions about nutrition for vegan babies and children.

Hot food to be confirmed. Will have a salad bar. Vegan catering for festivals, fairs, weddings and birthdays. Cover Exeter, Tiverton and the south west.

The Big Kebabski
Menu to be confirmed. Street food business with their own trailer, specialising in vegan kebabs and burgers. All food, dips, sauces and even “vegan meat” are homemade according to their unique recipes.

Delicious hot bubble waffles with sauces, topping and vegan whipped cream.

Hot Drinks also available, only £1, with all proceeds to EFFA! You can also refill your water bottles in the drinks area.

Apple Natural *NEW
Apple shreds, rings and fruit leathers made with local organic apples from their own and nearby orchards in Cornwall. They’ll have a choice of their apple fruit leathers to buy loose in compostable bags or bring your own container to fill.

Bake Free
Rich chocolate brownies, layer cakes and tray bakes and sweet treats along with savoury rolls, hand pies, frittata-style slices and savoury flapjacks. All freshly handmade in Exeter, all gluten free and made in a dedicated gluten free kitchen.

Busy Bumble Bakes *NEW
Handcrafted cakes and bakes; cupcakes, flapjacks and celebration cakes. Busy Bumble Bakes are very kindly donating 20% of their sales to EFFA.

Curious Kombucha
The ever-popular fermented drink Kombucha, in a variety of flavours. Raw and made with organic green tea and spring water.

Dark Moon Chocolates
Vegan chocolate truffles and chocolate dark moons, lots of flavours including peanut butter and caramel, white chocolate and passion fruit and cappuccino.

Devon Against Horse Racing *NEW
DAHR protest and monitor local horse racing events. They work closely with Animal Aid, sending them reports and footage captured at the racecourse. Find out more at their stall and how you can help.

Chickpea based sandwich fillers, spud or salad toppers: Toona, Spicy Buffalo and Herby Chickpea.

Dough Eyes
Freshly hand-made vegan and palm oil free doughnuts. All fillings and glazes are made in-house. A range of classic flavours and of course some seasonal!

Ebb Tides Seaweeds
Ebb Tides harvest seaweeds of the Devon Coast and create products for the table: seaweed condiments and gin.

Eco Friendly Shop
Plastic-free vegan treats, toiletries, cleaning, store cupboard and tins.

Elmkind
Ethical cleaning products in sustainable reusable aluminium spray bottles. For kitchen, bathroom, all purpose and glass. Concentrated refills also available.
